This Is The Kit (6/10)
Start 20:00 / End 20:40
This Is The Kit, from the U.K., opened the Folk Rock evening proposing a sound not far away from Iron & Wine’s one. With banjo, bass and drums the band created a nice and cozy atmosphere, which made you forgive of being in a big theater. Sometimes the songs sounded a bit too similar to each other, but in the end, This Is the Kit was a proper and enjoyable opening band for this event.

Iron & Wine (7/10)
Start 21:05 / End 22:50
Iron & Wine (Samuel Beam) presented his new work “Ghost & Ghost” at the fascinating old theater of Berlin Admiralpalast, a building dating back to the beginning of 1900 with a long and interesting history. He was accompained on stage by 12 musicians, and during the evening, he proposed several songs from his latest album, where he slowly moved away from the original Indie Folk elaborated in the previous albums, orienting the current sound towards an elegant Pop strongly influenced by Jazz and R&B. Nevertheless, the setlist was also composed by some of the old Folk hits of Iron & Wine: alone with his acoustic guitar, or accompanied by strings, Samuel Beam opened his Folk soul for his beloved audience. He always talked to the people in the audience in between songs, repetitively expressing his gratitude or telling funny anecdotes, showing to be a humble person with no diva behaviour. We like him for how he is, and the whole audience seemed to appreciate the performance, even though there were some unfounded complains at the beginning about his sound expressed by some frustrated failed music-star-wannabe present in the audience…
