Twerps @ Kantine am Berghain, Berlin #YCmusic

Twerps are an Australian band that  focuses on delivering fantastic three-minute  guitar pop songs. Founded in 2008 by singer and guitarist Marty Frawley and singer and guitarist Jules MacFarlane they released their second full length album this year and are on the european leg of their tour now.
The Berghain Kantine was well filled and the Twerps delivered a great set of jangling guitar songs that reminded me of the no-noise side of Yo la Tengo, fellow Australian band The Go-Betweens or sometimes even the Beach Boys. They might be standing on the shoulders of giants but nevertheless they are absolutely standing on their own feet. Great melodies, great guitar and drum playing, interesting voices and interesting lyrics.
This was a great concert even though they did not play ‘Through the day’.
